Evening Car Boot
Thursday 25th July            5.30pm-8pm
Following the success of the last EQUINE and GENERAL Car Boot Sale, Hopton Rehab and Homing will be holding another evening car boot at Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre. Boots arrive at 5pm to set up. Open to buyers 5.30pm-8.00pm. Pre book for £4 cars £6 vans or simply arrive on the night £5 cars £7 vans. Refreshments available.

Tilly Teadance
From a textile artist and tutor based in Shrewsbury, this work is inspired by the dramatic landscape, coastline, hillsides, hedgerows and gardens of Britain which create unique pieces of art in felting and embroidery. 

John and Mike Hayward – A year in Shropshire
A collection of images featuring Shropshire throughout the seasons. The pictures pay tribute to what is a diverse, unspoilt and often overlooked part of England. Many of the images appear in the photographers’ latest book, A Year In Shropshire.

Free entry. All pieces on display available to purchase. 

Shropshire Food Fair
Saturday 3rd August         10am-4pm
On Saturday 3rd August, join the team at Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre for their Shropshire Food Fair. With local food and drink suppliers displaying their products, the Centre staff are proud to be celebrating all that our wonderful area has to offer! If you are interested in exhibiting, contact the Centre for more information and a booking form. FREE ENTRY for visitors with lots of yummy produce to try and buy.

Fruit Tree Pruning Workshop
Saturday 10th August       10am-1pm
Our community orchard is full of maturing heritage varieties of apples, pears, plums, cherry, medlar and hazel-nut trees. With an introduction covering the what, where, when, why and how to prune fruit trees, come to the Centre and learn the skill of pruning. We will be Summer pruning the apple and pear trees. 
The session will be run by Karen Limbrick, a Garden Organic/Three Counties Traditional Orchard Project ‘Orchard Champion’ and member of Marcher Apple Network. 
Please bring secateurs, loppers, and pruning saws if you have them. Stout boots and gardening gloves are essential. Some tools/gloves will be available on the day.
£25 per person. Early bird booking discount of £5 if booked before 13th July 2019.

Become a Habitat Helper!            
Sunday 4th August            10am-1pm

Join the habitat helpers every first Sunday of the month to give the meadows a little TLC. All ages and abilities welcome, tools and refreshments provided.

Leaf boats and catapults – Summer Holiday activity

Make a boat from a reed, a leaf a piece of bark or a raft made from twigs tied together with grass or stickweed – will it have a stick and leaf mast? Launch them into the river and see how they sail, which will be your best? Also make a catapult from sticks tape and elastic bands, how far will a nut go? Monday – Friday 1pm-2.30pm. £4 per accompanied 3-11 year old. Booking advised.

Going on a Bear Hunt – Summer Holiday activity
We’re not scared. Go in search of the pictures of bears around the meadows, with the bears wanting activities to be carried out at each stop; explore sounds, blow bubbles, make mud fairy cakes and enjoy a bear’s favourite food at the end of the trail cooked over a camp fire.
Monday – Friday 1pm-2.30pm. £4 per accompanied 3-11 year old. Booking advised.

Bushcraft with wood – Summer Holiday activity
A variety of bushcraft projects practicing knots and using wood. From learning a knot that will become a leash on a log pet or pushing out pith to make a puppet or necklace to splitting sticks and drilling holes to make an animal.
Monday – Friday 1pm-2.30pm. £4 per accompanied 3-11 year old. Booking advised.

Film starts at 7.30pm with refreshments and a licensed bar available from 6.30pm.
